What we do
At Wanganui Barbell we train predominantly with powerlifting training. Powerlifting is the strength sport that tests the whole body on three different lifts: squat, bench press and deadlift. Powerlifting is an inclusive sport that allows people of all body types and weights to compete, all with the same purpose, to develop a strong body and mind. Wanganui Barbells take on training is to not only include powerlifting training to train the strength component, but also to include a variety of other training methods to create a strong and visually aesthetic physique. These other methods dip into the bodybuilding, calisthenics, strong man and competitive weight lifting’s “bag of tricks”.
We program to suit the individual, so that means that we won’t let you bite off more than you can chew. We cater for the beginner through to the more advanced If you have ever wanted to get stronger, faster and change your body for the better we will show you how. All powerlifting coaching is now done online. Some personal training timeslots are available during the day from our home gym in Westmere, reach out to discuss.
